Mikheil Gelovani

Biography

Mikheil Giorgis dze Gelovani (6 January 1893 – 21 December 1956) was a Soviet and Georgian actor, known for his numerous portrayals of Joseph Stalin in cinema, starring in fifteen historic movies mostly about the early Soviet era. He was recognized as People's Artist of the USSR in 1950 and won the four Stalin Prizes of the first degree (1941, 1942, 1947, 1950).
