Committees

Several committees have been established to assist the Board with their work.

Grant Committee Members

The Grants Committee is charged with screening grants submitted by Floyd County non-profits twice a year and recommending grant funding to the Foundation's Board of Directors. The committee also assists in publicizing the work of the foundation and the grants program and encourages organizations to apply for funds. Members commit to a one-year, renewable membership on the committee. Meetings for each cycle are scheduled in advance and generally consist of six meetings. Members go through an orientation to the grant process with the Executive Director. Members are accountable to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors of the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County.

Investment Committee Members

The Investment Committee is charged by the Board of Directors to monitor and direct the investment management of the Foundation. The committee is authorized to delegate certain responsibilities to professionals in various fields. Members commit to a one year, renewable membership on the committee. Meetings are scheduled in advance and generally consist of four to six meetings a year. Members are accountable to the Board of Directors of the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County. Two Board members serve on the Investment Committee.

Small Business Revolving Loan Fund Committee Members

The Small Business Revolving Loan Fund Review Committee consisting of members from the boards of directors of both the Horseshoe Foundation and One Southern Indiana will evaluate loan applications and determine funding decisions.
